Recognition for our social and educational work

We are especially grateful to the students, who, thanks to their achievements, are what make us feel satisfied with the work we have done.

The progress we have made, in the challenge we have set for ourselves to create second chances for youth, has earned the Association the following awards and recognition.

Norte Joven recibe el Premio Solidario del Seguro INESE 2019

Honourable Mention for the “Creating a Future” project in the 2nd edition of the Awards for the Best Social Initiatives in the energy sector, sponsored by the Naturgy Foundation.

2019 Premio Colaboradores Línea Directa

9th Edition of the Collaborators Award in the “social value” category, sponsored by Línea Directa Aseguradora, recognising Norte Joven for promoting the socio-occupational integration of young people through training and improving their employability.


Cross of Merit awarded by the Royal Association of Hidalgos of Spain, in recognition of the “extraordinary merits” of Norte Joven in promoting the personal development and socio-occupational integration of persons in situations of vulnerability.


Youth of Alcobendas Award in the Youth Social Project category, recognising Norte Joven for promoting the image of young people in the Madrid municipality of Alcobendas.

Forética #Enterprise2020 #pact4youth initiative, selecting the Digital Employment Project for training young people on microcomputing and communication networks. This project was led by Norte Joven in collaboration with the Telefónica Foundation’s #ConectaEmpleo (Connect with Employment) initiative.

Award for the Best Third Sector Initiative, in the 1st edition of the Multinational Awards for the “marca España” Spanish brand campaign, CSR 2017 in recognition of the merits and work of Norte Joven, which has stood out for its contribution to the development of corporate social responsibility in Spain.


Award for best practice in Social Responsibility 2016. 4th Edition of the FUNDAL Awards for the work carried out by the Association with young people at risk of social exclusion.


4th Edition of the Corresponsables Foundation Award, in the Non-Profit Entities and Social Economy category, for the “Bringing Youth and Businesses Together” project.

Honourable Mention for Solidarity in the Accenture Journalism Award.


Spanish Insurance Professionals (INESE). Insurance Sector Solidarity Award 2011 for the Norte Joven project “Help them build their future” sponsored by QBE.

2011 European Alliance on Skills for Employability Award, 2nd edition, Youth Empowerment through Skills category, sponsored by Microsoft, State Street and the Adecco Group.


Special Prize, Statewide Awards for Volunteer Social Work 2010. Spanish Ministry of Health and Social Policy.

Honourable Mention in the Miguel Hernández Award, awarded by the Ministry of Education to highlight the importance that should be placed on removing inequalities in education and eliminating discrimination against disadvantaged groups in relation to basic education.

BigMat Solidarity Award 2010.

Our methodology was selected in the Good Practice category in the Dubai International Award for Best Practices (DIABP) to Improve the Living Environment (United Nations).


Spanish Red Cross Foundation (CREFAT). Queen Sofía Award for prevention of drug abuse, in the Fields of Education and Community.

Childhood and Adolescence Award from the Community of Madrid, 13th edition. Social Entity category, for our work with youth at risk of social exclusion.

Marisol de Torres Award, as Social Action Entity working to help the needy.

CEPSA Award for Social Value, from the Autonomous Community of Madrid.


Ernst & Young Award, in the 1st edition of the “Javier Pancorbo” Social Projects Competition.

“Youth with Values” Award (2nd edition) to the group of volunteers from the Francisco Javier University Community for their contribution doing volunteer work with Norte Joven.

1st Edition of the Incorpora Award (small enterprises category) to the company TILSECO, for its work in integrating students from Norte Joven’s electricity workshop.

18th AEDME Award for business sponsorship and patronage. Honourable Mention in collaboration with the Barclays Foundation.


CEPSA Award for Social Value, from the Autonomous Community of Madrid.


ABC Solidarity-ABC University Award. 1st edition.

Self-assessment of management according to the EFQM Model, obtaining a validated score of between 280 and 300 points.

Norte Joven was chosen as the Spanish representative entity in the “Youth and Adult Literacy in Multicultural Environments” project under the Convenio Andrés Bello convention, promoted by the Technical Advisory Service of the Subdirectorate General for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science.


Town of Vallecas Award for Education. 5th edition. Municipal Board of the Villa de Vallecas District.


The “Social Skills Programme for the Prevention of Drug Addiction” project was one of three Spanish projects selected in Luxembourg by the European Commission’s Directorate General V for Public Health and Safety at Work.

External technical evaluation: Since 2003, the Lealtad Foundation has been analysing the institutional processes and practices of Norte Joven and of other third sector organisations.


Approval by the Employment Service of the Regional Department of Labour to teach training courses (under Spain’s national training plan, F.I.P.)


Vaguada Award for local information, for the most altruistic Association in the district.


Bolsa y Sociedad Award from the Empresa y Sociedad Foundation, aimed at occupational training projects and job creation for socially excluded persons.


Miguel Hernández Award from the Ministry of Education and Culture.


Declaration of Public Utility.


In collaboration with the Department of Education and Technology of the University of Notre Dame de la Paix, Namur (France), research has been done regarding on- and off-the-job training: “Training the trainers to prepare unschooled youth for the workplace”, funded by the European Social Fund’s PETRA programme for the vocational training of young people and their preparation for adult working life.

UNESCO has included Norte Joven’s experience in its research on “Strategic cultural factors in local development (FADECELO)” done that year, in the context of the UNESCO World Decade for Cultural Development.


Queen Sofía Award against drug abuse, from the Spanish Red Cross Foundation (CREFAT), for best social work.

In collaboration with Comillas Pontifical University, the “Evaluative Research on Education Centres and Programmes” research project won an award and subsidies in the 1991 call for Grants for Educational Research by CIDE (Centre for Research and Educational Documentation of the Ministry of Education and Science).


Included in the European Union’s PETRA programme network.

Association Femmes d’Europe, based in Brussels, has acknowledged the work of Norte Joven and financed some of its projects.
