The social catering has been designed and planned by the Association, integrating it into the programming and school calendar of the participants as part of their training in Cooking, in the socio-labour integration itineraries that are developed in the Vallecas Center.

Since September 2016, more than 60 weekly meals, every Tuesday and Friday, are prepared by the youngsters of the Cooking workshop in the center of Villa de Vallecas. Its objective is that the participants, in addition to training in the trade, prepare and offer in solidarity to families in situations of vulnerability or social exclusion selected by Cáritas Madrid who reside in Vallecas, complete, healthy and free menus.

And this is what is new about the project for students, because it represents an improvement in the training method in the hotel industry. They learn to cook by cooking for others and offering a service for people in serious situations of difficulty, a service-learning exercise that weekly tests the professional skills of the students in the trade but, above all, educates them in values, trains to acquire pro-labour skills, promotes in them effort, motivation, self-esteem, with the personal and social benefits that this entails for young people.
